One Baboucarr Bobb, a native of Banjul based in Germany on Friday presented a new Mercedes Benz van as an ambulance for funeral services to the Banjul City Council (BCC). The presentation was held at BCC’s premises in Banjul.
On receiving the new ambulance, the lord mayor of Banjul, Alhaji Abdoulie Bah commended the donor for the timely and laudable gesture. “The new ambulance would greatly assist us in the delivery of the services,” he stated.
The services of an ambulance, he went on, is highly needed at the council. This will therefore ease the burden of funeral services in the country.
He informed the donor that BCC is the leading provider of transport for funeral services in the country, and that they will continue to provide best funeral services to Gambians at all times.
The city’s mayor promised that the ambulance will be put to good use, expressing his resolve to further strengthen cordial ties with Banjulians in the Diaspora.
This relationship, he went on, will be geared towards building a relationship that would bring about rapid socio-economic development to the city.
He also used the forum to highlight some development projects the council is currently undertaking; positing that in any initiative he always puts the interest of Banjulians first before any other.
For his part, Baboucarr Bobb, the donor hailed the lord mayor of Banjul Alhaji Aboulie Bah and his senior management team for revamping the capital city.
“I acquire this ambulance in order to ease some of the problems BCC is facing in terms of transportation in funeral services,” he added.
Bobb further expressing his resolve to offer more support to BCC in the near future.
It would be recalled that two months ago Baboucarr Bobb sponsored the construction of a new mosque and toilet facilities at the Banjul cemetery situated at Old Jeshwang.
