The Vice President and Minister of Women’s Affairs Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy on Monday received in audience Samir Diab, Assistant Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at State House.
Speaking to the press shortly after the audience Samir Diab said: “We have a message from Secretary General to be delivered to the President. We have talked about so many things,” he said.
Diab said the main concern of the OIC at this particular time is the outcome of the election and the proceeding. “We pray for the stability of the country. We informed her that the OIC is ready to render services to The Gambia because The Gambia is an important member of the OIC and they are the host of the next summit so we care much about The Gambia. And if there is any need for OIC to standby The Gambia to make any contributions needed from OIC we will do so”.
